Church Period: Trinity 2nd Sunday After
Sermon Title: The Great Importance Of Preaching Jesus
Sermon Date: June 4, 1967
Rev. August Hauptman
Sermon Text: John 5:22-24

Dear Christian friends:

When is the last time that you talked about Jesus to someone? In your home or family? Where you at work? Were you at play or bowling? When you were visiting someone?

When is the last time that you read the Lutheran Witness or Reporter to study about church work or Mission work?

Do you pray to God for His blessings on our church and me and mission and missionaries?

I think many of us are afraid and ashamed to answer these questions. Because often we fail to talk about Jesus to one another and to others. Also we often are not eager to help support missions. Why?

Maybe we do not think it is important. Maybe we think people will be saved from hell without Jesus. Not everyone believes in God although we may think so. The Jews thought they did. Jesus showed them that they did not.

Today many say, "It makes no difference what church you belong to or what you believe only you must be sincere." Unitarians, Mormons, Jews, Jehovah Witnesses, Christian Scientists etc. They deny the Trinity.

Jesus says that He and He only is our Savior. If you don't believe Jesus, you don't believe in God. "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)

Jesus is equal with the Father. He has the power to raise the dead and the power to judge. So it is very important for us to talk about Jesus to other people. Christians are rapidly declining in the world. Talk to friends and where you work and other places about Jesus. Support Christians that are doing mission work.

Amen.
