Dear Christian friends:
A few years ago we saw on TV astronauts walking on the
moon. That was a wonderful event and achievement. But
one minister says, "God walking on the earth is more
wonderful than man walking on the moon!"
How does God walk on the earth? Yes, in us. When we
become like God in love and mercy and helping people.
God Walking On Earth
God lives in us. Jesus says in John 14:23, "If a man love
me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him,
and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him."
Jesus says, "We", who does He mean? He means who? Father,
Son and Holy Spirit will live in us and help us love
people like God does.
If God lives in your heart can you hate someone or do other
evil? So how does God come to live in our heart? When we
hear the Gospel. The Holy Spirit helps us to believe in
Jesus for our Savior. When we are born again of water and
the Spirit.
It is important that we hear God's Word daily. Then God
can live in our hearts and rule us to love our neighbor.
Jesus told the Jews, "He who is of God hears God’s words;"
(John 8:47) Since we are sinners by nature we naturally
are selfish, proud and easily judge and condemn our
neighbor. So we need to hear God's Word of Jesus that He
loves and forgives often.
What will we do if God lives in us? We will show mercy to
others. "Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful."
(Luke 6:36) We will not judge and condemn others who sin.
"Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and
you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be
forgiven;" (John 36:37) "And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us."
(Fifth Petition of the Lords Prayer) We will give to
people in trouble and need. "Give, and it will be given
to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together,
running over, will be put into your lap. For with the
measure you use it will be measured back to you."
(John 6:38)
Why should we let God live in us and serve through us?
As we treat people so shall they treat us. God,
also, will deal with us as we deal with our neighbor.
(John 6:36-38) We are blind and hypocrites if we don't.
(John 6:39-42)
Lord help us daily to learn to walk like you.
Amen.
